Miraloma Park is a residential neighborhood of approximately 2,200 single-family homes on the eastern and southern slopes of Mount Davidson in west-central San Francisco. In 1926, the Meyer Brothers home building company — Theodore Meyer, president, G.H. Winter, secretary, and Dewey Blade, sales manager — purchased 208 acres of eucalyptus forest from the Adolph Sutro estate and launched one of the largest master-planned subdivisions yet undertaken within San Francisco city limits. The Sutro estate had planted the hillside with eucalyptus trees in the 1880s as part of the vast reforestation of Mount Davidson. Meyer Brothers' plan called for 'some of the atmosphere of the early Spanish period' — stucco facades, red clay tile rooflines, and Spanish street names like Arroyo, Gaviota, Reposa, and Isola, giving Miraloma Park a distinct Mediterranean character. The Miraloma Park Improvement Club was incorporated in 1936 and obtained the first neighborhood bus line — the No. 36 on Teresita Boulevard — opened with a parade in 1939.

Mount Davidson, at 928 feet the highest natural point in San Francisco, anchors the neighborhood's northern boundary and is maintained as a 40-acre natural area within the San Francisco Recreation and Park system. The famous Mount Davidson Cross, a 103-foot concrete cross erected in 1934 and illuminated on Easter Sunday each year, is a San Francisco landmark visible across the city.
