About Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn
Located in the southwestern section of Brooklyn, Windsor Terrace is a small residential neighborhood known for its tree-lined streets, historic row houses, and strong sense of community.
The land that became Windsor Terrace was originally inhabited by the Canarsee people before Dutch settlers began farming the area as part of the town of Flatbush. In the mid-1800s, developer Robert Bell subdivided the farmland into residential lots and named the area Windsor Terrace after the English town of Windsor.
The neighborhood grew steadily in the early twentieth century as new homes were built and public transit expanded in Brooklyn. Its location beside Prospect Park helped make the area especially attractive to families looking for green space while remaining close to the city.
Today, Windsor Terrace is known for its peaceful atmosphere, local businesses, and tight-knit community. It remains one of Brooklyn’s most beloved neighborhoods and a place that many residents are proud to call home.
